Date: 6/22/2010 6:42 AM PDT

HHHO received GREAT news today! HHHO has partnered with Food for the Poor on a building project in Aquin, Haiti. HHHO purchased land and Food for the Poor is going to build 35 houses and 10 wells on this land. These homes will be given to families displaced by the earthquake. Construction begins in one week!

Our latest mission group has returned from another successful mission trip! The mission grounds and mission group encountered severe flooding during this trip and had to stay at the mission during the heaviest of the rains. The displaced children staying at the mission were also flooded out. Their tents were flooded with sewage and water runoff. HHHO has temporarily rented a building in Aquin to house the children. HHHO purchased beds and mattresses and all the children have been moved to this dry location and are doing well. HHHO was able to distribute rice and beans to the many flood victims. Plans are in the works to provide the children with a permanent building where they can live and go to school.

Those suffering in Haiti

Dear Lord,
I just want to say THANK YOU
Because this morning I woke up and knew where my children were.
Because this morning my home was still standing.
Because this morning I am not crying because my husband, my child, my brother or sister needs to be dug out from underneath a pile of concrete.
Because I was not awakened in the night to aftershock tremors in the earth.
Because this morning I was able to drink a glass of water.
Because this morning I had food to eat.
Because this morning I was able to turn on the light.
Because this morning I was able to take a shower.
Because this morning I was not planning a funeral.
But most of all I thank you this morning because I still have life and a voice to cry out for the people of Haiti.

Lord I cry out to you, the one that makes the impossible, possible,
the one that turns darkness into light,
I cry out that you give those people strength, that you give them peace that surpasses all understanding, that you open the streets so that help can come,  that you provide doctors, nurses, food, water, and all that they need in the blink of an eye.
For all those who have lost family members, give them peace, give them hope and give them courage to continue on!
Protect the children and shield them with your power.

I pray all this in the name of Jesus. Thank you Father, Amen
